Dr. Ling Liu's research interests include high-performance multi-scale computation with applications to biological macromolecules, nanomaterials, composites, and energetic materials. This includes simulation and design of advanced materials for energy and environmental applications, modeling of nano/bio-materials for novel thermal applications, as well as fatigue and crack simulation of advanced nanomaterials, engineering composites, and structures.
Dr. Ling Liu is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. He has published over 50 peer-refereed papers in journals including Physical Review Letters, Nano Letters, Nanoscale, and Nano Energy. He has been an active member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), currently chairing two Technical Committees (TCs) in the Materials Division: the Multifunctional Materials TC and the Nanomaterials for Biology and Medicine TC.
