General Information
Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering offers an MS degree in Aerospace Engineering for working professionals through Distance Education. Courses taught through Distance Education are also taught live to students in the campus classroom. Distance Education students are encouraged to participate live during the class broadcast, while classes are recorded and archived. Review a recorded lecture.
Requirements for admissions
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
- A minimum GPA of 3.3 for the last 60 semester or 90 quarter credits earned.
- A familiarity with either FORTRAN or C programming languages
- Evidence submitted of potential graduate-level success through GRE scores in the verbal, quantitative, and qualitative categories
Process to apply
- Submit an informal application by completing Form 1 and submitting transcripts to the Graduate Academic Advisor.
- Apply formally online at Graduate School. (Students may take a maximum of 12 credits before being formally admitted into the Department once they receive permission to take courses.)
- Note that degree requirements are the same for both on campus and Distance Education students.
Costs and computer requirements
- Tuition is $1,980 for each 3 credit course. Tuition discounts are given to active military personnel. If a student has five or more associates from work who want to take the course together, additional tuition discounts may apply.
- Students access their classes from an Internet Connection. Adobe Connect (formerly Breeze) requires Flash player plug-in, which students can download the Flash plug-in before class beings.
