Biography

Prior to joining USU in August 2018, Dr. Wang worked at Oregon State University as a research faculty for ten years. He has broad research expertise in various thermal energy systems. Before going back to graduate school, Dr. Wang worked eight years in a natural gas research institute as a mechanical and process engineer.

Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Renewable Energy, Energy Systems, HVAC

Research Interests

Dr. Wang has broad research interests, including 1) advanced power cycles using supercritical fluids; 2) microchannel heat exchangers for process intensification; 3) integrated energy systems to optimize various clean energy resources; 4) heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) in grid-interactive efficient buildings (GEB); 5) a unique thermal energy storage and freeze desalination using supercooling phenomenon; 6) boiling and condensation enhancement; 7) heat transfer and anti-icing on superhydrophobic surfaces.
