Influence of Water Dissociation on Nanofluidic Flow.Major Professor: Dr. Heng Ban
The project aims to investigate ion distribution and electric field in nanofluidic flow by applying an external pressure gradient or electrical field. Recently, nanofluidic phenomena has drawn more and more attention due to its potential applications in a variety of fields such as chemical and biomolecular sensing, DNA separations, fluid transport and electrokinetic energy conversion. The research work will be comprised by analytical analysis, numerical simulation and experimental validation. Our research will improve the fundamental understanding of fluid transport in nanofluidic systems by involving the contribution of water dissociation.
