Computational Simulation of Biomacromolecules Major Professor: Dr. Ling Liu
Biomacromolecules are large biological polymers such as proteins, ligand and other carbohydrates. This project aims to apply molecular dynamics and multiscale computational approach to study the physics of several biomacromolecular systems including spider silk protein and a variety of peptide-based structures. By collaborating with experimentalists, the research will reveal key physical insights into the load transfer, failure, thermal conduction, and self-assembly mechanisms in these systems with the ultimate goal of materials design and system optimization for improved performance.
